COPE #10208-TD
Event #132021
Expiration Date: 12/8/2028

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Myopia control has become a standard of practice, but with new approvals and a rapidly expanding evidence base, it can be difficult to know what is currently considered best treatment and management. This lecture serves to update practitioners on several myopia control modalities, namely special spectacles and atropine, while also providing recommendations for follow-up schedule and testing.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Discuss special spectacles for myopia control, including common designs, efficacy, and theories behind why they work.
• Discuss atropine for myopia control, including efficacy from recent clinical trials, and potential side effects to monitor in management.
• Describe a protocol for follow-up with various myopia control modalities, including recommended tests to be performed and frequency of visits.
