COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This interactive glaucoma lecture will review some of the classic tests for glaucoma, including IOP measurement, VF testing, gonioscopy, and ONH imaging, as well as update and introduce newer diagnostic technology for glaucoma, including OCT, OCT-A, color vision testing, and ERG


LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
  • Interpret structural and functional findings to detect and monitor glaucoma.
  • Apply traditional and emerging diagnostic technologies in glaucoma evaluation.
  • Assess intraocular pressure and angle anatomy to guide clinical management.

Dr. Nathan Lighthizer

Dr. Nathan (Nate) Lighthizer, born in Bismarck, North Dakota, is a graduate of Pacific University College of Optometry. He completed a Family Practice residency with an emphasis in Ocular Disease at Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry (NSUOCO), where he now serves as Associate Dean.

He founded and leads NSU’s Dry Eye Clinic and is Chief of Specialty Care Clinics and Electrodiagnostics. A nationally recognized lecturer, Dr. Lighthizer specializes in advanced ophthalmic procedures, electrodiagnostics, and ocular disease. He is also a founding member and past president of the Intrepid Eye Society.
