COURSE DESCRIPTION:

The suspected pathophysiology of Macular Telangiectasia (Mac Tel) has changed significantly with current research, leading to more appropriate management and new possible treatment options. This presentation will review the previous etiology of Mac Tel in addition to discussing the newer and more widely accepted theory behind this condition. This course was recorded at our NW Residents Conference in June 2026.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

● Attendees will be introduced to the newly accepted theory behind the suspected pathophysiology of Mac Tel.

● Attendees will be able to recognize characteristics unique to Mac Tel through both clinical assessment and supportive ancillary imaging with OCT/OCT-A.

● Attendees will be made aware of new treatments currently available for Mac Tel.
