COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course reviews three clinical cases of diplopia across various patient populations and causes, including refractive, binocular, and macular etiologies. Emphasis of this course is on clinical decision-making and treatment/management, including spectacle correction, prism, vision therapy, and specialist referrals, to improve patient outcomes and visual comfort. This course was recorded at our NW Residents Conference in June 2026.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

● Differentiate between monocular and binocular diplopia.

● Analyze clinical findings to determine the underlying reason for a patient’s diplopia (refractive, vergence, accommodative, or retinal).

● Form treatment/management plans for the various reasons of diplopia, including spectacle correction, prism, vision therapy, and referral when indicated.
