COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Vertical phorias and tropias can cause significant symptoms even at small magnitudes. Clinical management begins with an effective diagnostic strategy. Management can include prism correction, therapy, and surgery. Clinical decision-making will be explored through the review of three cases. This course was recorded at our NW Residents Conference in June 2026.

• Formulate vertical deviation diagnoses and how to review how they present in clinic.

• Distinguish evaluation techniques to identify and quantify vertical deviations.

• Illustrate treatment methods to effectively correct vertical imbalance of different etiology.
