COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This lecture will review what characteristics make a choroidal lesion suspicious for ocular melanoma or ocular metastasis, talk about relevant genes that play a risk factors, and review cases of suspicious lesions to discuss how these patients were managed. This course was recorded at our NW Residents Conference in June 2026.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

• Evaluate choroidal lesions and identify what key characteristics make a lesion suspicious for cancer 

• Define a few key genes that pose a risk for cancer, including ocular cancer 

• Develop appropriate treatment plans for patients with choroidal lesions
