COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This course will present a review of considerations to keep in mind during an exam for special needs pediatric patients, including common challenges and strategies for engaging with the patients and their parents.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
Participants will demonstrate the ability to recognize ocular health risks prevalent in children with autism, implement effective strategies for engaging and examining pediatric patients with special needs, and apply appropriate considerations when prescribing spectacles for this population.
