COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course will cover both fundamental and advanced concepts of contemporary diabetic retinopathy care, with an emphasis on recent diagnostic and management developments. Real-world clinical applications of multi-modal imaging technology will be explored, including how it can detect pathology earlier and provide more accurate retinopathy staging.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
· Review staging and classification of diabetic retinopathy
· Understand the role of OCT, OCT angiography, wide-field photography, and B scan ultrasonography in the diagnosis and management of diabetic retinopathy.
· Become familiar with recent literature & standard of care documents guiding the management of diabetic retinopathy

Dr. Carolyn Majcher
Carolyn Majcher is a Doctor of Optometry and a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and Optometric Retina Society. She received her Doctorate of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University and completed an ocular disease residency at the Eye Institute of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Following completion of her residency, Dr. Majcher served as Chief of the Retinal Disease Clinic and an Assistant Professor at the University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry for 8 years. In 2019 she joined the Northeastern State University Oklahoma College of Optometry as an Associate Professor and the Director of Residency Programs.
