Multimodal Retinal Imaging Grand Rounds
COPE #92025-TD
Event #129087
Expiration Date:  6/18/2027

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Using a fast-paced, case presentation format this course will cover some common and some not-so-common retinal pathologies. Emphasis will be placed on the clinical utility and interpretation of various imaging modalities including color and auto fluorescence photography, OCT, and ultrasonography.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

• Recognize clinical features of choroidal melanoma, hydroxychloroquine-induced retinal toxicity, macular telangiectasia type 2.

• Become familiar with interpretation of ancillary diagnostic imaging tests such as optical coherence tomography, optical coherence tomography angiography, fundus auto fluorescence, and ocular ultrasound.

• Generate a list of differential diagnoses when presented with presumed asymmetric diabetic retinopathy

• To learn how to detect, monitor, and quantify GA lesions using a variety of multimodal imaging modalities especially OCT

• Recognize the important role that multimodal retinal imaging plays in the early detection of neovascular and exudative AMD

• Strengthen diagnostic reasoning skills and the ability to apply basic and clinical knowledge in order to develop appropriate diagnostic and management plans.
