COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This interactive glaucoma lecture will review some of the classic tests for glaucoma including IOP measurement, gonioscopy, and ONH imaging. It will also introduce and allow participants to get hands-on with newer technology including OCT, OCT-A VEP and pERG.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

•To review and become more familiar with the role of structure vs. function in the development of glaucoma.

•To review, become familiar with, and gain more experience with VEP and pERG through discussion, and clinical cases.

•To review, become familiar, and gain more experience with the various IOP measurement techniques and devices including Goldmann, Pascal, iCare, and the ORA.

•To review, become familiar with, and gain more experience with gonioscopy through discussion.

•To review, become familiar with, and gain more experience with OCT through discussion, and clinical cases.

•To review, become familiar with, and gain more experience with ONH imaging devices through discussion, and clinical cases.

Dr. Nathan Lighthizer

Dr. Nathan Lighthizer, O.D., F.A.A.O., is a 2009 graduate of Pacific University College of Optometry.  Upon graduation, he completed a residency in Family Practice Optometry with an emphasis in Ocular Disease through the NSU Oklahoma College of Optometry.  Dr. Lighthizer has since joined the faculty at the Oklahoma College of Optometry and serves as the Chief of Specialty Care Clinics and the Chief of Electrodiagnostics Clinic.  Dr. Lighthizer lectures nationally on numerous topics, most notably advanced ophthalmic procedures, electrodiagnostics, and ocular disease.
