COURSE DESCRIPTION:

The increasing prevalence of myopia has global public health implications and has become an important area of research in the ophthalmic community. This course will describe current and potential future contact lens options for myopia control in clinical practice. 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

• The theory of peripheral defocus and the development of myopia

• The roles of soft multifocal and dual-focus CLs, orthokeratology, and GP lenses in myopia control
• Spectacle lenses and atropine as other options for myopia control
• Future methods of management and the importance of early intervention

Dr. Mari Fujimoto


Dr. Fujimoto received both her Doctorate of Optometry and completed her residency in Cornea and Contact Lenses at Pacific University College of Optometry. She is an Assistant Professor of Optometry at the College of Optometry and is involved in clinical and didactic contact lens education and research.
