COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This interactive grand rounds course will feature actual anterior and posterior segment encounters seen at the NSU Oklahoma College of Optometry that involve pain management.   

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
• To review/become familiar with recurrent corneal erosions (RCE’s) and the treatment options available for it.

• To review/become familiar with Preseptal Cellulitis, Orbital Cellulitis, and Lid Abscesses and the treatment options available for each.

• To review/become familiar with corneal ulcers and the treatment options available for it.

• To review/become familiar with Central Serous Chorioretinopathy and the treatment options available for it.

• To review/become familiar with Plaquenil toxicity and the appropriate management of it.

• To review/become familiar with Pseudotumor Cerebri and the appropriate management of it.

Dr. Nathan Lighthizer

Dr. Nathan Lighthizer, O.D., F.A.A.O., is a 2009 graduate of Pacific University College of Optometry.  Upon graduation, he completed a residency in Family Practice Optometry with an emphasis in Ocular Disease through the NSU Oklahoma College of Optometry.  Dr. Lighthizer has since joined the faculty at the Oklahoma College of Optometry and serves as the Chief of Specialty Care Clinics and the Chief of Electrodiagnostics Clinic.  Dr. Lighthizer lectures nationally on numerous topics, most notably advanced ophthalmic procedures, electrodiagnostics, and ocular disease.
