Advanced Ocular Therapeutics (AOT)
Certification Course

The Advanced Ocular Therapeutics (AOT) Certification Course is a 23-hour program focused on the use of systemic and injectable medications in optometric practice. This course currently meets the didactic requirements for Advanced Ocular Therapeutics licensure in Oregon, Washington, and Alaska, as well as the educational requirements for Alberta, Canada.

The program consists of 14 online courses.
After completing each course, participants must pass an online examination covering the course material.
A minimum passing score of 70% is required for each exam.

Upon successful completion of all course requirements, participants will be able to download both their Advanced Ocular Therapeutics (AOT) Certificate and CE certificates documenting the hours completed. These certificates may be used to support licensure, certification, and credentialing requirements, as applicable.


Additional Requirements

  • Oregon and Alaska require completion of an approved 7-hour injection workshop in addition to the didactic coursework.
  • Requirements may vary by jurisdiction. Participants should verify licensure requirements with their state or provincial regulatory board.
