COURSE DESCRIPTION:

In a grand round formats, Pacific University, College of Optometry residents will present A review of the neuro-ophthalmic implications of common medications and other treatments radiation therapy, chemotherapeutic agents and immunomodulators As well as an overview of the ocular manifestations, including the risk of permanent vision loss, following non-ocular surgeries.

  • To review what and how medications and other therapies may affect the opticnerv
  • To discuss the management of the neuro-ophthalmic effects of thesemedications
  • Discuss the pathophysiology of retinal artery occlusion and ischemic optic neuropathy in association with perioperative care and review signs, symptoms, and ocular sequelae of retinal artery occlusion and ischemicoptic neuropathy in association with perioperative care
